Finca Real del Mallorca, is a residential complex of 12 semi-detached family houses in Huimilpan, Mexico, with private parking and a small patio adjoining several service areas.
On a plot of elongated proportions, the positioning of the buildings is simple and neat. They are arranged in two parallel rows of 8 and 4 houses.
The functional scheme for the housing proposes the common areas on the ground floor: living room, kitchen and toilet. Upstairs the bedrooms and a small living room are arranged. The formal image of the building bases its lines on contemporary architecture. A design made from the aggregation of volumes that each space contains.
From the outside we can see that each piece corresponds to a certain room or area. This offers a very logical reading of the functioning of the houses. A very honest architecture that expresses with its image what somehow happens inside.
Although the houses are paired and symmetrical, the architects have tried different materials on the facades of each one of the two residences. In this way they get a more heterogeneous picture, giving the feeling of being one piece instead of two equals.
They design incorporates a number of nuances that greatly enriches the image of the residential complex. The facades are full of jutting small pieces one over the other that cast elegant shadow planes filling the facades with depth and making them much more attractive.
