Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture presents a preliminary design concept for the renovation of the La Cala Golf Resort golf academy in Mijas, Malaga, Costa del Sol.
The renovation project presented by the Gonzáaez & Jacobson architectural firm seeks to revitalize and modernize the facilities, maintaining their essence and certain characteristic details that give them identity and continuity with the surrounding environment.
The proposal focuses on creating a functional and aesthetically harmonious space, consolidating a contemporary architectural image, adapted to the current needs of golfers and visitors.
The redesign incorporates a new parking lot, a hierarchical main entrance, a shop, a multifunctional lounge, and an outdoor area equipped with pergolas that foster a visual and physical connection with the surrounding landscape. Pedestrian paths directly connected to the main entrance of the academy are incorporated, with clear signage and permeable paving that minimizes environmental impact.
The shop adopts organic, fluid, and enveloping forms that soften the spaces and invite spontaneous exploration.
As a distinctive element, “green tongues” of artificial grass are incorporated, running through the store like curved natural carpets. A symbolic reference to the golf course, reinforcing the identity of the space.
This preliminary approach presented by Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture seeks to lay the foundations for a project that respects the history of the site while incorporating innovation, creating a benchmark in the region for golf training and enjoyment.
