CONTEST OF IDEAS FOR A RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT IN THE COSTA DEL SOL (III)

Wood, stone, landscaped roofs are the key elements of this design projected by González & Jacobson Architecture for this residential development on the Costa del Sol.

Because nature is the protagonist, it surrounds the houses, crosses them, spills them and contains them.

Colors, textures and organic forms are the differentiating elements that give them character and place them in their environment, because these houses are not understood without their landscape.

CONTEST OF IDEAS FOR A RESIDENCIAL DEVELOPEMENT IN THE COSTA DEL SOL (II)

While undertaking this contest of ideas, we wanted to give special prominence to the exterior image. The reason is none other than the high landscape value of the densely wooded area. We wanted at all times that; the edifications were respectful to the environment, minimizing the visual impact.

As you can see in the images, we show you today, nature is the real protagonist of this González & Jacobson Architecture project of good contemporary design but that does not mean forgetting the roots of Mediterranean architecture.

We hope you like it.

CONTEST OF IDEAS FOR A RESIDENCIAL DEVELOPEMENT IN THE COSTA DEL SOL (I)

Recently, Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture studio has participated in a contest of ideas for a low-density residential development on the Costa del Sol. On a large land we have proposed a distribution immersed in nature, a complex completely anchored to the ground, adapted in its orography and always respectful to the existing vegetation, a high valued landscape.

The land is traverse from north to south by a stream, which instead of an inconvenience, we consider it an opportunity to enhance the surroundings, taking advantage of this circumstance to improve the recreational areas and providing them with a plus quality. This together with the previous existence of a golf course and its immediacy to the A-7 road and the sea, make the place have a special attraction.

WATER HOUSE

Innovative cubic forms of this town reveals an interior which combines functionality with design to create spaces adapted to the modern lifestyle.

The facade of access, more opaque contrasts horizontality of volumes in white with central, vertical and dark room.

The southwest facade sheds its skin with different textures like stone that crowns the central volume and the glass that surrounds it and make a game of transparencies.

REFORM OF COMMERCIAL SPACE IN CALA DE MIJAS

We are finalizing the details of the reform of the retail space in La Cala de Mijas, whose works will begin soon. As always, we try to take care of all the details, because it is they who make the difference and make a local will become a unique space: the study of lighting, suspended ceilings, the combination of materials, distribution of space, furniture design and exhibitors … nothing is left to chance.

A small-scale project, but in which the design team of Gonzalez & amp; Jacobson Architecture dumps, as always, all his experience and enthusiasm.

DAYS OF SUMMER: SOROLLA TO HOPPER, CARMEN THYSSEN MUSEUM

The exhibition “Summer Days: Hopper Sorolla” in the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Malaga, a journey through the enjoyment of the sea and summer stays at spas and beaches began as a phenomenon among the bourgeoisie in the mid-nineteenth century, probably a preview of sun and beach tourism today.
