The houses, in semi-detached or detached typology and two floors above ground level, are immersed in the landscape, with which they are integrated, through the use of natural materials such as stone, or landscaped roofs. In this way, the visual impact is minimal, while improving interior insulation conditions and reducing energy consumption.
The proposed housing typologies adapts to the diverse needs of the users, offering the possibility of evolving, all this through the design of open spaces on the daytime floors, or with movable partitions that allow compartmentalization if necessary.
Likewise, the G&J team has made every effort to resolve the location, so that practically all the units enjoy sea views from some of their rooms.

Last day dedicated to this Ideas Competition in which we show you the final image of the Set proposed by the design team of Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture.
We especially like the night image, with a careful lighting, which highlights the game between the glazed volumes, and the closures of terraces with lattices in horizontal frame, which are framed, and at the same time coordinate with the pergolas.
And, as we told you in our last post, the more closed access facades have continuous cladding in contrast to the stone cladding reserved for the volumes of the communication cores, all in a range of grays and whites in keeping trends.
Turn today for the layouts proposed by Gonzalez & Jacobson Architecture in the Competition for Residential Development in Mijas, on a plot of 20,000 m2 and overlooking the Mountains of Mija and the Bay of Fuengirola.
The facades facing the gardens are much more open, with large openings and terraces enclosed by glazed parapets to optimize views and sunlight. On the other hand, the access and side facades are planned to be more compact, with continuous cladding and, occasionally, cladding panels to cover the volumes destined to communication cores, all in light tones, playing on the range of grays and whites according to current trends. The complex is completed with wooden pergolas, perfect for filtering the light in summer.
We show you in detail the prototypes of apartments in this comprehensive rehabilitation project of a building in Malaga, in the surroundings of the Carmen Thyssen Museum.
Respecting the original load-bearing wall structure, the different residential units, with one or two bedrooms, have been distributed. The lack of courtyards and the modulation of façade openings have been other conditioning factors of the design, which integrates the daytime rooms in unique, open and fluid spaces, reserving the greatest compartmentalization for the bedroom and bathroom areas.
We hope you like it.
We begin today with the presentation of a new project in which the design team of González & Jacobson Architecture is immersed. It is a proposal in the historic center of Malaga, in the surroundings of the Carmen Thyssen Museum, an area for years abandoned and that, thanks to the Museum has recovered in a short time a great life, with restaurants, cafes, stores and tourist accommodations.
In this context, the building in question is located, already existing and that we are going to rehabilitate with a comprehensive intervention, respecting important elements of its structure and facade, such as the sequence of holes characteristic of the elevation or the load-bearing walls, which in some apartments will be exposed, to highlight its prominence.
The result is a residential project of one and two-bedroom apartments, with generous and very open spaces.
